About Nanking blues
Nanking Blues （南京生活）is a series of illustrations created for my own writing of the same title.
As my illustration debut, this set of works was also shortlisted as finalist in the 9th Hiii Illustration Competition(judged by Anna Goodson / ATAK/ Charles Hively / Chocotoy / Janine Rewell / Martin Salisbury / Taro Uryu / Victo Ngai, 2021)
Parts of the writing along with these illustrations were exhibited at Yes! Art Festival (Hangzhou, 2022), one of the most influential youth art festivals in China.
I used opaque watercolor on paper and digital painting as my approach. Now, in addition to making films and writing, I continue to make illustrations and paintings.
